We have a 1977 24′ Argosy Motorhome (Airstream’s Painted Cousin) that we are renovating and updating. It has great bare basic bones inside from the previous owner but no style. I wanted to make the interior a little patriotic without going full blown Stars and Stripes as a dedication to my husband’s service in the USMC.
I initially thought of a military green color to add a little more character and ease out of the Red, White and Blue. Although, it looked ok, it wasn’t great. I do love the green color as an interesting neutral though!
Then we went with a blue paint that was the same color as the blue on the outside of the Motorhome. That was ok and worked better but kind of boring.
I am all about patterns. I have them in my office, living room and dining room at home so I knew I needed to add them to the Argosy Motorhome.
I found a great “peel and stick” pattern that fit into our Military and USA theme for under $35. There were too many choices and narrowing it down to the chevrons was the biggest challenge of this project! 😀
I love this particular brand because it is wide. If you have ever renovated or wanted something different on your Airstream / Argosy closet doors….this wallpaper is wide enough for that change.
Installing was your typical wallpaper job of making sure everything is straight, aligned and no bubbles. All in all, fairly easy but even more so with two people.
Another thing that I love about this Brand is that they leave hash marks for you to line up the paper side-by-side.
The way I approach renovations is to try things out. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. For $30, I felt this was worth the investment. Although, I like it now, after living with it for a couple of months, I might switch it up….again. Decor doesn’t have to be permanent!
